7 Ajaw 18 K’ank’in (January 5, 2014): Review of 2013 and Start of 2014

As some of our Maya colleagues say, happy Gregorian new year (to distinguish from their Maya new year).

It seems appropriate, for our first blog of 2014, to review some or our contributions to Maya epigraphy made in 2013. Below are nine workshops in three countries that you, as contributors to MAM, helped make possible.

This wraps up our report for 2013, as we now turn our attention to the second international congress of Maya epigraphers to be held in Ocosingo, Chiapas in May, 2014. We launch our fund raising drive with our next blog, appropriately on day 1 Ajaw, a wonderfully auspicious day to take us into the new year’s activities.
